For many years, I held on to these beliefs with a sense of wonder, but as I grew older, I discovered that Santa Claus and the tooth fairy were nothing more than figments of our collective imagination. This realization shattered my faith in everything I had been taught, and I began to question the very existence of God.
My journey through secondary school was marked by an insatiable curiosity and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. I became a fervent atheist, using logic and science as my guiding lights, determined to answer life's biggest questions. This period of intellectual exploration led me to build a strong foundation in rational thought and critical analysis.
However, my perspective of the world was turned upside down once again when I entered college and had my first experience with psychedelics. The profound connection I felt with the universe during these trips opened my eyes to a new realm of understanding. I began to see the life and energy that flowed through everything around me, from the trees swaying in the wind to the stars twinkling in the night sky.
As I delved deeper into this newfound spiritual dimension, I sought to reconcile my scientific background with my evolving perspective. It was during this time that I stumbled upon the concept of energy conservation in physics, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but only transformed from one form to another. This idea resonated with me, and I began to see a connection with eastern philosophies like Taoism and the Buddhist belief in reincarnation.
However, my understanding of reincarnation was not in the traditional sense of a soul moving from one being to another. Instead, I saw it as a cosmic dance of energy, constantly flowing and transforming from one form to another, connecting all living things. This idea led me to a profound realization: "God" was not some omnipotent being in the clouds, but rather the universal consciousness and energy that pervades everything in existence.
My journey of spiritual awakening brought me to the understanding that each of us, and everything around us, is a unique expression of this universal consciousness. We are all part of an interconnected web of life, and in this beautiful tapestry, everything is God.
From the innocence of childhood to the skepticism of adolescence and the enlightenment of adulthood, my path has led me to a place of awe and reverence for the mysteries of the universe. As I continue to walk this path, I embrace the idea that we are all connected by the same divine energy, each a tiny spark in the vast cosmic dance of existence. And in this dance, we are all one.
